Health and Safety |
Washtec believe that Health and Safety is an integral part of any job. The use of plant and machinery under the correct guidelines, general Health and Safety of our workers and your staff that may be present whilst we are working and that of the general public is of the highest importance to us. The site surveys we conduct before work commences always include Health and Safety checks which will highlight any potential problems specific to that site ensuring we can plan all the necessary contingencies needed for the job to run smoothly and within any appropriate guidelines.
All of our staff are CRB checked, wear a uniform and appropriate PPE such as high visibility jackets, goggles and hard hats. All have attended courses on Health and Safety in the Work Place to ensure their understanding of the various aspects of general Health and Safety. In addition to this they also attend refresher courses read at regular intervals so that their knowledge is up to date and any new best working practices are adhered to.
Employees working at height all have the necessary accreditation from the approved bodies meaning they have reached the competent level of expertise to work safely in such environments with the relevant equipment. The International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) certificates cover the safe and effective use of powered access equipment such as scissor lifts and cherry pickers. The Prefabricated Access Suppliers' and Manufacturers' Association (PASMA) certificates cover the safe use of alloy access towers. The Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) provides proof of occupational competence and courses are designed to highlight hazard awareness and reduce accidents in the workplace. |
